Depart Nairobi after breakfast and enjoy a scenic five-hour drive to Meru National Park, passing through beautiful countryside with spectacular views of the snow-capped Mount Kenya in the distance. The journey takes you through Embu and winding valleys, offering excellent opportunities for sightseeing along the way.

Arrive in time for lunch at Ikweta Safari Camp before heading out on your first afternoon game drive. Meru National Park is home to large prides of lions, herds of buffaloes, elephants, hippos, crocodiles, and an abundance of other wildlife that thrive within its rivers, forests, and open plains.

Return to the camp in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

Spend the entire day exploring the spectacular Meru National Park with morning and afternoon game drives. The park offers remarkably diverse scenery, ranging from open grasslands and numerous rivers to lush woodlands along the Nyambene Hills.

Look out for elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, hippos, buffaloes, giraffes, gazelles, hartebeests, and rare antelope species including the Lesser Kudu, duiker, and the tiny dik-dik.

Meru is also famous as the setting for Joy Adamson's Born Free, and its rivers, swamps, palms, and forests create one of Kenya's most beautiful safari landscapes. After breakfast, depart Meru and journey north through Kenya's central highlands, passing coffee and tea plantations before crossing the Equator into the semi-arid landscapes of Samburu.

In the afternoon, visit the famous Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only place in Kenya where rescued chimpanzees are cared for in a protected environment. Spend the day exploring the spectacular Ol Pejeta Conservancy, one of East Africa's leading wildlife conservancies and an important sanctuary for endangered species. The conservancy is also home to the world's last two remaining northern white rhinos and offers some of Kenya's finest wildlife viewing experiences against the backdrop of Mount Kenya.
